Skiing Stoke from Lake Tahoe

Month: April 2012

Friday the 13th!!! Is Scary Deep!

Three feet high and rising.

Nothing like a couple feet of new snow in the middle of April. Friday was a legit pow day. By late afternoon, lower elevations were cooked but still skiable. Stay high and north for the goods.

4pm Friday the 13th.

Surface slab on wind loaded, northeast facing, 38 degree slope. Ran about 200 feet.

What's next?

Bam Pow!

It snowed all night and today is going to rock. About 7 or 8 inches fell in Truckee. The Pacific Crest should be in excess of two feet since the storm started.

Stacking up in Squaw on Friday the 13th!

Just over a half foot of snow fell in Truckee last night.

Easter Weekend

Tasty Tracks above the Donner Snowsheds.

Aaron Pope on the west side of Donner Peak.

These guys took matters into their own hands with tall boys from Alice's Market prior to the Chammy opening on Easter Sunday.

For the best Bloody Mary in Squaw check out Sunday Bloody Sunday at PlumpJack. An extensive Bloody Mary menu includes the Mediterranean Bloody featured in this photo.
